Latin American Disabled People’s Project fue fundada en 1990 por y para discapacitados  de habla hispana y portuguesa que viven en Londres y tienen como objetivo mejorar su calidad de vida. 
Trabajamos con sus cuidadores, familias y comunidades para mejorar la calidad de sus vidas, romper el aislamiento y la integración en la comunidad de apoyo.    

Brindamos asesoría, apoyo, información, representación en el bienestar, beneficios por incapacidad ,  vivienda y servicios de salud. También se ofrecen clases de inglés, talleres, entrenamiento de idiomas, interpretación, los procesos de ciudadanía, los niños y actividades familiares, servicios de atención al usuario, entablar amistad con el desarrollo, el bienestar de los proyectos, eventos sociales y culturales, así como oportunidades de voluntariado.

History

Mission Statement

To improve the quality of life and independence of disabled Spanish and Portuguese speaking people living in London and those of their carers, families and communities through information, training, advice, advocacy, social and cultural events, and volunteering opportunities.

The services we provide are based on equal opportunities, confidentiality, empathy and a non-judgmental approach towards our users.

Who We Help

The project serves disabled Spanish and Portuguese speaking people from Latin America, Europe and Africa.

Most of our members: 
  • Are asylum seekers, refugees and migrants.
  • Live in households in receipt of means-tested benefits.
  • Have not acquired basic knowledge of the English language.

They have either a:
  • Poverty or risk of poverty.
  • Community integration difficulties.
  • Physical disability.
  • Learning impairment.
  • Mental health problem.
  • Sensory disability.
  • Chronic illness.
  • Terminal illness.
