Belated thanks to recognize CoolTan Arts and Latin American Disabled People's Project, for their combined effort in hosting the Open Day. It took place on the 13Th of May at the CoolTan Arts main location. Workers, volunteers, clients and members of the public, came together to celebrate the Latin American culture and its integration in to the British community. With an extensive activity programme, everyone present enjoyed a literary art workshop, which included poetry. In addition, we had the opportunity to taste some traditional Latin American food. If that wasn't enough, we also had a live performance from the band Peruvian Son. At the same time, LADPP was offering advice about work and information concerning projects and services that it provides. CoolTan Arts is a local mental health charity working to support individuals to gain independence and self-realisation through creativity, helping to improve well-being. "CoolTan Arts believes mental wellbeing is enhanced by the power of creativity" is their logan, and It is not hard to imagine. Its mission is motivating, creative and its work with the community asserts this idea.
Thanks then, to CoolTanArts and LADPP for bringing together volunteers for this event. An action that must not be separated from our daily practices: United towards human improvement.
